Liveblogging GOE: “F*** Bush,” “Oink Oink!” Scream the Protestors

15 09 2007

GOE leader Col. Harry Riley:

 “We’re not going away.”

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 15, 2007 09:55 AM

Update 5:45pm Eastern. Here’s the AP’s dispatch mentioning some of the arrests of demonstrators who jumped the fence at the base of the Capitol. We were up the steps in the middle of the crazies who started barking “Fascism!” when the police took away the fence-jumpers.

Update 5:00pm Eastern. Well, they came, they spewed, they cursed. Several thousand Soros marchers descended on the Capitol yelling “Fuck Bush” and “Fuck you” at Gold Star Families. As Capitol Hill police arrested the “die-in” participants, young peaceniks shouted “What does a pig look like? The Capitol police” and “Oink! Oink! Oink.” Others shrieked about “Fascism!” and gleefully performed “Sieg Heil” salutes. We’ll have video from the midst of the moonbats. Across from Taft Park, some anti-American demonstrators waving a large, upside-down American flag and pulling a coffin with Army boots got in a scuffle with Eagles. We’ll have that video of that as well.

It’s difficult to make any crowd estimates at this point. The Eagles were spread all along the protest/counterprotest route. From our vantage point, the Eagles were several thousand strong. And many will be back tomorrow and throughout the week lobbying on Capitol Hill. As Col. Harry Riley told me just now:

“We’re not going away.”

Stay tuned.

WaPo spares a few paragraphs for the Eagles here. More from Pam at Blogmeister USA. Read the rest of this entry »

The Foxhound Howls from the Trenches of GOE 3

15 09 2007

Swampies,

The Foxhound has reported in from the trenches! It appears that the Gathering of Eagles has presented a strong support group of 5,000 plus members while the anti-war supporters have a mere 3,000 (plus or minus)!  The Gathering of Eagles, Free Republic, Rolling Thunder, Eagles Up, and Move America Forward.org have all stood together to fight the ever-growing anymosity of “Bush haters” that attribute “NON-Support of our Military during wartime” as equivalents on the same stage.

Reports have been sent in from Michelle Malkin, The Foxhound, and additional Eagles from around the states.  Stay Tuned as these reports will be posted shortly!

Soliders Flies Home in Company Jet

A Midwest Company Shows Its Gratitude To Our Soldiers

Four days isn’t a long time. If you don’t believe it, ask a soldier who’s on a quick visit home before heading off to Iraq… That’s how much time 2nd Lt. Goddard of Oskaloosa and 170 other soldiers in her Army Reserve military police battalion had.  They had been in pre-deployment training at Fort Dix, N.J., and went en masse to the Philadelphia airport to catch flights home for those precious four days. Is The Surge Working?

2 09 2007

Dear ’Swampies,’

Is the surge working? You tell me!

I say, ‘How can it not be?’ We’re in areas that no soldiers have pressed upon for months and, in some cases, years.

Here is a news source that comes to you from the front lines in Iraq.  Seven of our eight companies are living out in sector [at coalition outposts], among the people that they are working with.  Our soldiers are conducting operations and patrols in their sectors daily.  We’ve got al Qaeda… JAM… and JAI (Jaisch al Islam) discombobulated, and we’re showing the people there – people who might not have seen an American soldier in years – a sustained presence, catching bad guys, building checkpoints, providing medical care, and making life safer and better for them.

“UNARRESTED:” Only For Congress?

2 09 2007

Fellow ‘Swampies,’

As I was reading this article, I couldn’t help but to recall my days as a Law Enforcement Officer; I recollected upon my previous experiences with “land mines” and empathized with the frustrations of the the police officers in this story. As every LEO knows that when he stops that Judge, Mayor, State Representative, or in my case, former Governor Clinton, he stands the chance of carrier suicide if he doesn’t show the better part of descretion and “unarrest” the forementioned real fast.  Hence the term “land mines,” for a very good reason.

Sincerely,

SLANTED REPORTING? Iraq vs California

1 09 2007

(Contributed by Gathering of Eagles’ Jim Diehl

War torn Iraq has about 26 million residents, a peaceful California  perhaps now 35 million.  The former is a violent and impoverished landscape; the latter said to be paradise on Earth. But how you envision either place to some degree depends on the eye of the beholder and is predicated on what the daily media appear to make of each.

As a fifth generation Californian, I deeply love this state, but still imagine what the reaction would be if the world awoke each morning to be told that once again there were six more murders, 27 rapes, 38 arsons, 180 robberies, and 360 instances of assault in California yesterday, today, tomorrow, and every day.  I wonder if the headlines would scream about “Nearly 200 poor Californians butchered again this month!” Read the rest of this entry »
