Presidential candidates, congress members and the world media will be in Fort Worth,Texas attending the Texas Republican Straw Poll Townhall Convention on September 1, 2007 – days prior to General Petreaus’ report to the nation about the ongoing war and occupation in Iraq. Americans from across the country will descend on Fort Worth to express their opinion on the war. With a massive outlet for Eagles to express their pro-troop feelings, the anti-war demonstrators have decided to go all out.  For example, Texans for Peace has issued the following: “You are invited to join in the “American People’s Poll on Iraq – Texas Townhall” rally and other events to demonstrate where you stand and call to End the War! Bring Our Troops Home Now!”

Texans for Peace, The Dallas Peace Center, Code Pink, Veterans against the War, Iraq Veterans against the War, and Peace Action Texas have decided to canvas the poll from 9am to 5pm outside of the Fort Worth Convention Center. The will also be gathering from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm on Main Street to rally.

Wow, I was really impressed with the 1 dozen eagles that attended. At this rate there won’t be an pro-war forces at the rally next year.

End the War! Bring Our Troops Home Now!!

Susy,
At least there are still Eagles out there and Patriots out there who care. I do wonder though what kind of person (without politics) you are if you feel like you have to be sarcastic and rude to others just because of their difference in political viewpoint? My sister adores John Kerry and Hillary Clinton and refuses to support the war yet, she and I have never said a mean thing to each other or raised our voices to each other regarding the matter. We respect each other and our different perspectives. It is part of what makes America great-the ability to express or even have differing opinions and not be fearful of retaliation.
